Recommended Dolls Houses

A good dolls house is a classic, whether it's for 12 inch fashion dolls or smaller folk.  When deciding which models we should include in this feature, we considered quality, value for money, how easy the kits are to assemble, how easy they are to play with and ultimately what they look like. Here are some of our favourites:

Tidlo Tidlington House

The traditional wooden Tidlo Tidlington House is a wonderful three story dolls house which has been carefully created in beechwood and features the most gorgeous colourful painted graphics. This lovely wooden dolls house has both front and back doors which fully open, making it really easy to access from both sides, so it's also perfect for group play. The roof panels on the Tidlo Tidlington House can be fully detached which reveals the attic rooms beneath; these panels can then be reversed which reveals a hidden garden scene that can be attached to the base of the dolls house which is a fantastic bonus feature.

This doll's house also comes with a sheet of beautiful stickers that you can use to decorate your house. You can stick them on and remove them easily if you'd like to move them around in your house. Butterbee Cottage

A beautifully painted wooden dolls house with a wipe-clean finish, Butterbee Cottage includes three spacious floors, two staircases and even includes pretty fabric curtains which hang from every window on durable string rails already secured into place. For easy access to the attic space, the roof panels are interchangeable and can either be lifted off completely or one roof panel can simply lay on the other. There are no hinges making this perfectly safe and easy to use for little fingers. Assembly is wonderfully simple and takes just minutes to slot very few pieces together. The flower boxes on the sides of the house secure the structure, resulting in a very sturdy dolls house. Opening window shutters, front door and large front panels swivel on thick enclosed wooden dowels which are already fixed into place for extra durability and safety. The front panels also include discreet magnetic catches to keep them closed.
